The GM-X Inventory subsystem manages stock for order-to-bill and procure-to-order processes.
Facilities
- Allows any number of facilities to be defined for storage of inventory
- Supports unlimited facility types such as warehouse, depot, factory, building or room

- Each facility can belong to a client organization or trading partner
- Supports unlimited facility roles such as own stock, vendor-managed, customer-managed

Inventory tracking
- Tracks inventory items by product, lot or batch, serial, facility and container
- Tracks specific features by serial number
- Tracks the history of all inventory issues, with breakdown by feature
- Tracks the history of all inventory receipts
- Tracks the history of all inventory variances
Lot or batch control
- Identifies all inventory items that are part of the same production run
Container and handling unit management
- Supports any number of container types such as pallets, cartons and cases
- Supports standard GS1 (SSCC) container identity as descriptive text
- Allows any number of containers to be defined for storage of inventory
- Supports multi-level container hierarchies (multi-level handling units)
Sales order fulfilment
- Optionally allows inventory to be reserved for a sales order when the order is entered
- Uses configurable rules to determine the required approvals before generating pick lists
- Optionally allows inventory to be reserved for a sales order when pick lists are generated
- Supports multiple user-defined inventory picking roles such as stock clerk or manager
- Issues stock from inventory to fulfill sales orders, together with related features

Transfer order fulfilment

Receiving
- Receives stock into inventory that was previously issued to fulfill sales order details
- Adds stock into inventory as it is received from purchase orders (POs) and transfer orders
- Links each receipt to the relevant PO or transfer order
- Supports non-conformance statuses such as issued, response required/received, closed
- Maintains and tracks non-conformance reports when problems are found during receiving
