New reciprocal tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on April 2nd, 2015, came as a shock to many U.S. importers. Considering recent hype, and in particular the ability to digest reams of global trade data in near real time as well as generate program code automatically, one could hardly imagine a scenario in which AI technology is potentially better suited to deal with the resulting business challenges than this. We put this hypothesis to the test.
